Harmony | Free Implant Surgery
Yes, it is true: many of our patients receive FREE dental implant surgery. Here is how:
We regularly provide dental implant training courses at Roseman University in South Jordan, Utah. These courses are attended by licensed dentists from all parts of the United States, who want to place dental implants under Dr. Hillam’s supervision. Here is where YOU come in — we need patients for these courses! Patients who want to participate are screened at Harmony Implants. Those who qualify are treated at no cost. We have provided hundreds of implant surgeries to patients along the Wasatch Front in this way.
We are always looking for patients. Here is how you qualify:
Are You:
- Missing one or more posterior teeth?
- Generally Healthy?
- In a good state of dental health?
Additionally, are you:
- Willing to receive treatment in an educational setting?
- Able to attend a Friday or Saturday course at Roseman University in South Jordan?
If so, please contact us for a free screening.
Treatment Steps:
- Pre-Screening: call or text us if you think you might qualify for our course. Tell us about your needs, and we will decide together whether to move forward with an in-person screening.
- Screening: this is done at Harmony Implants in West Jordan. Dr. Hillam will look carefully at your medical and dental history, which you will fill out prior to your appointment. Then, after a brief examination of the areas that need treatment, you will receive a 3-D scan of your upper and lower jaws. Dr. Hillam will show you your bone height, width, and density. At this point he will tell you if you qualify for the course.
- Surgery Day: this is at one of our courses, usually on a Friday or Saturday, held in the Oral Surgery Clinic at Roseman University.
- Post-Op Appointment: this will be at Harmony Implants, 2-3 weeks after your implant surgery. Sutures are removed at this appointment.
- Prosthetic Care: this is when a tooth (or more specifically an abutment and crown) are placed upon your implant. It is usually done about 4 months after implant surgery, and it takes 2-3 separate visits. Your implant prosthetic treatment can be done at any dental office — including ours! At Harmony Implants we are happy to provide these services to you at a dramatically reduced cost.
FAQ:
- Who places my implants at your courses? Are they dental students? You are treated by licensed dentists at our courses — even though the course is held at a dental school, these are not dental students. These doctors come to us for training from all corners of the country. They are already experienced professionals, but they want more training with dental implant surgery.
- What if I need several implants? Would I still qualify for free implants at your course? Yes! We love our multiple-implant patients. As an example, at our most recent course, we had several patients who received three implants during their appointment. In fact, one of our patients received four, which was an 8-10k value (Implants are normally about $1800.00 to $2200.00 in most offices).
- What kind of implant is used, and how much does that matter? This is an important question. We use Blue Sky Bio implants, which are very reputable and widely used in the dental marketplace. They have a very high success rate (implants have a 97% success rate on average), and our success rates at Harmony Implants are even higher. Regarding the second question, your implant brand can matter quite a bit. A widely used brand will make it easier for other offices to restore and service your implants in the future, because it is a very popular platform.
- On surgery day, does the appointment take longer than it would at a normal dental office? Generally, yes. Things do take a little longer in our educational setting, but as stated earlier, these are not dental students. So in general, your appointment length will be comparable to that of a private practice.
- What if I don’t qualify for treatment at your course, but I still need implant treatment? We can still treat you, even if you do not qualify for the course. Some implant cases require simultaneous bone grafting or sinus lifting. Those are things that we can do for you at Harmony Implants. We provide these services at an unusually low cost.
- Is the prosthetic care free? Your surgical implant placement (which is offered for free to qualifying patients at our courses) is the first of three steps. The other two steps in your treatment involve the placement of an abutment, and the placement of a crown. The abutment and crown come at a cost. However, as with many of our surgical services, we are able to provide your abutment and crown at an unusually low cost.
- I was told that I don’t currently qualify for your course, but that I might qualify after my tooth is extracted and/or bone grafted. Is that something that you can do for me at Harmony? Yes, in most cases. Just give us a call or text and we can discuss it.
- Does Harmony Implants offer full-mouth treatment, such as implant-retained dentures or All-on-Fours? In most cases, no. We limited our treatment to cases that are partially edentulous, meaning that our patients still have most of their teeth. There are exceptions, so feel free to contact us to discuss your specific needs.
- Can you check other dental needs at your screenings? No. These implant screenings are limited in scope; they are not a comprehensive dental exam.
- If it is determined that I qualify to participate in your course, are you obligated to provide treatment to me? No. We have a list of patients who qualify for our courses. We match those patients with the doctors’ specific training needs. Even after they have qualified, some patients are a better match than others. You can always check in with us and ask us candidly whether it is likely that you will be used in an upcoming course. We are happy to tell you. Also, keep in mind that we do maintain a list of backup patients, and it is very common for some of them to receive treatment on our surgical days as well.
